Coaching Overview
The process of professional coaching emerged in the 1980s, pioneered by Tim Gallwey with his books The Inner Game of Tennis.
Since then, this profession has grown into a robust, innovative set of services for individuals and couples; executives and teams; organizations and foundations.
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) provides a set of standards for the coaching professions that uphold high standards across the world.
I have been coaching since before it became an official profession, starting in 1980 with executives and their teams. For these clients I provided a curriculum of leadership development skills and processes. This curriculum, with an innovative graphical interface is called Values-based Leadership (VBL). It can be found here.
My contributions to the field of NLP included the book and audio recording called NLP: The New Technology of Achievement.
My recent quest for continually upgrading my knowledge and skills led me to the 125 hour residential coaching training with the Academy of Coaching and NLP. There I completed a certificate in professional coaching. An Accredited Coach Training Program with ICF, this program incorporates Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) skills into the core ICF coaching competencies in the context of an international group of participants from the United States, Asia, and Europe.
